No strategy. No bluffing. Just pure instinct... and accepting that someone will accidentally slap your hand at least once.
Players: 2–6
Chaos level: ★★★★☆
Perfect for: Family game nights, quick rounds and competitive people with fast reflexes.
How to Play Snap
Set Up
Shuffle the deck and deal all the cards evenly between players.
Keep your cards face down and don't look at them.
Playing:
Starting with the player to the dealer's left, take turns placing the top card of your pile face up into the centre.
If two cards of the same rank appear one after the other, everyone races to slap the pile and shout "Snap!"
The first player to do it wins the centre pile and places it at the bottom of their deck.
The game continues until one player has collected every card.
Fun Adds:
Want to make things even harder?
Play exactly the same way, but as each player lays down a card, they say the card ranks aloud in order:
Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King... then repeat.
If the spoken rank matches the card played, everyone races to slap the pile.
Two matching cards in a row are still a valid Snap!
The first player to collect all the cards wins.
Why We Love It
Snap has a way of bringing out everyone's competitive side.
The quiet friend suddenly has lightning-fast reflexes.
The overly confident friend somehow misses every single Snap.
And no matter how old you are, there's something ridiculously satisfying about being the first hand on the pile.
Just maybe keep your fingers out of the way.
